Finnish National team has been around since 2012 with a little helping push from Blood Bowl community. The Danish organizer invited us and Finns managed to gather 5 Finnish players to form a team of 8 with 3 ringers and the rest is history.
The Finnish National team captain selection
Finnish tradition in last day of the Eurobowl is to gather the players in a players meeting, to choose the Captain for the next Eurobowl. Originally captain nominee had to participate in Eurobowl or EurOpen and be there to be selected, but it was opened a bit in 2024 to include nominees who didn’t participate the event. In 2025 captain nominee could let the acting captain know they were interested and send a short speech. If there are more than one nominee, voting will be used for selection. Because change is good it was decided for now that the Captain can be chosen for another year, but after two years a new one should be chosen. After the Captain is chosen, it is up to them to choose their method of how to select the rest of the players for the National team.
The choosing of the Vice-Captain was introduced in 2025 with the idea of sharing some captain responsibilities and while the Captain focuses on roster for Eurobowl, Vice-Captain would be focusing on building EurOpen roster. The Captains decide how to share the workloads and tasks.
How to get in the Finnish National team?
The choosing of the national team method in has couple basic requirements (show of interest, skill, will and means), but ultimately the acting Captain always chooses the method. Interested players are added to a chat group with other contenders for practice matches, discussion and tournament coordination for those with the competitive edge.

Possible positions for the future?
A Non-playing Coach is an option and the Captains can always choose to be a Coach instead of playing themself. If you are interested about the position contact the acting Captain. Requirements being closely the same (show of interest, skill, will and means) than for the National team in general.
A Manager to coordinate schedules and tackle other off-game tasks before and during Eurobowl.
